Pages 99-102 are finally up. Yeah, I kinda disappeared, didn't I? God I'm beginning to hate my lack of time. I hope this isn't gonna be another 1+ year art block because it's really starting to feel like it >_>; Yeah sure, I'm still coming up with ideas and stuff, but when it comes down to actually working on a page, it's like "what's the point, I won't have time to finish it today anyway"...that's not a good sign ._. I think when I get my shat together, I'm gonna do 2 page updates a week...which really sucks because I wanted this stupid chapter done by January. HAHA that ain't gonna happen.

Okay, enough of my negativity, lets move onto something more interesting. Been having lucid dreams about the opening credits for...SC? (lol of all the things I choose to dream about, its always the damn opening :/) Maybe I should just draw out a storyboard. I want it to be a unique opening though...I'm kinda sick of the anime openings that just have the main characters walking =_= it's really boring. I want something super creative but that requires brain power...which I don't have at the moment. I also have to rewrite the theme song because the lyrics are shit right now. At first, I wanted it to sound like girly-punk, but in recent dreams I've had, it sounded more like girly-early-90s-alternative-rock...so I dunno. Wait, why am I thinking about this if SC will never become an anime anyways XD A GIRL CAN STILL DREAM.

Aaaaand we're back from that horrid hiatus. Pages 93-98 are up! I was gonna throw in one more page before the update, but I didn't have time. I'll just throw it in with next week's update (since some of the pages shouldn't be that hard anyway). The next page seems to kind of fit better with next week's anyways...sort of. Yeah, enough about that. After almost 100 pages, they're going to land x_x there was a lot of explaining in the chapter, huh? Well there's still more explaining to do, haha. 46 pages to go! *shoots self*

Work's been killin' me. I gotta learn to say no when they ask me to work on my days off >_>; If you haven't noticed, the quality of the pages has gone down because I simply don't have time to fuss around with the details anymore. I just want to get these pages out asap. Bleh.

Heyooo. Yeah I know I'm late. I didn't really have time to write a journal yesterday since I got sick randomly after submitting the pages...but I'm better now :]

Anyways, pages 88-92 are up! I wasn't originally gonna do 5 pages, but I realized the dialogue for 92 was connected to 91 <.< so I just slapped it together at the last second. Anddd since I got that done early, there will be a 3 page update for the 30th...which is good 'cause I start work this week D: I have no idea how that's gonna be.

So, because of my soon-to-be new life, I have to really work on time management. I remember when I was going to school, I couldn't work on SC at all...I hope that work's not gonna be like that :[ I really just have to teach myself to work on art projects at certain times...and not be tempted to fool around after work T~T My goal is to finish chapter 3 by the end of January...let's see how that goes.

Speaking of chapters, I got other things done this week. Even though it's months away, I got 12 pages of chapter 4 planned out xDDD I'm not sure why. Probably 'cause I just finished revising the chapter. It's gonna be loads of fun to draw :D

Pages 84-87 are up! I think I'm enjoying toning more and more :) (I used to loathe it...now I loathe the line art D:< )

Um um um as I mentioned on SJ and DA, I might have to slow down with the updates soon because I start my new job on the 26th T_T I REALLY wanna push out these pages 'cause I feel like chapter 3 is too slow already. We'll see >_<

Besides a crazy week involving interviews, getting a new ID card, and taking a drug test, I got 4 pages and some revising done on the later chapters. I never realized how corny some of the dialogue was (well, some of it still IS corny, but I'll just leave it for now). I got chapters 4-7 set (again, for now...until I change my mind like many times before =/ ). 4-6 will be about 100 pages each and 7 will be about 130. So...I got a long way to go x_X I also keep looking back to see if I forgot anything...even little things (you know how much I keep forgetting to insert Cookie and the other pets? It's astonishing!)

I was also rereading chapters 8-11 (which are incomplete...and chapters 12-15 don't even have dialogue yet xD). I realized that the mood changes rather abruptly. It goes from supah kawaii/retarded/humorous/somewhat bitchy to...really dark and tragic o_= There's a lot of violence, angst, plot twists, and (unfortunately) people dying near the end. I just hope it won't scare viewers away and have them think that SC's turning into some kind of soap opera :< I'll have to work on the transition a bit more and balance out the before and after stages. Maybe throw some mild tragedy in the earlier chapters...and some comic relief in the later ones xD

I don't really have much to say for this entry. The only thing I can think of is that I might start revising some of the chapters again (been meaning to do that for a while), but that's if I have time...yeah, not much else.

Yep, I'm late again. Kinda jinxed myself from the last entry T^T;

Pages 75-78 are up! I admit I kinda got lazy with these pages. Haven't had much motivation to draw. I knew I was gonna hit some sort of block. Meh.

I also kinda wanna talk about something here that I'm been pondering about. *cracks fingers* Well, here goes..

It has occurred to me that Greek Mythology is a frequently used theme/concept among a lot of manga/stories/whatever. I can't name any examples specifically, but I do notice it a lot. I honestly never realized this until now...maybe because I'm too dense or I just don't read enough :T So what I want to ask (of my readers) is this:

Does the fact that I used Greek Mythology as a theme for the Coelians make my story seem less original? Be honest.

I was 16 when I named my characters, and I wanted something "ancient" sounding for the names. Since I was interested in mythology at the time, I went for a Greek theme. Plus, it was a nice contrast to the "Saints" theme (pagan vs. christian). It just never occurred to me that it was so widely used. Looking back now, I probably should've used a different theme, but I don't want to change my character's names if I can help it.

However, I can use this theme to my advantage. Since a lot of myths are well known, I can trick people into thinking a character will be a certain way based on their name/myth, and then twist it around to surprise them. For example, I can give a character the name of a bad god/goddess, then make them good...or a vice versa. I'm not saying this will ALWAYS happen, but in some cases, it will. Just so you know, my characters aren't EXACTLY like the figures they were based off of. I think that would make the story far too predictable, neh? (though I have some scenes that are symbolic of the original myths but not really a reinactment of them...I won't say anymore than that :) )

Haizzz. 8 PAGE UPDATE THIS WEEK. Page 67-74 are up! I am NEVER doing that again ^_^

I can't believe I've actually been on time these past few weeks. Weird. Anyways, if anyone on mangabullet noticed, I stopped updating there (for now). I dunno, I just haven't had the motivation to upload to a 3rd site. Maybe I'll continue sometime...maybe.

I had a dream earlier this week about my characters dancing and singing in an early-90s-esque video o-o what.

I dunno what else to really say, just kinda rushing this so I can jump in the shower >_< Umm...

OMG. I had a dream last night that I almost flushed my drawings down the toilet :( what the heck was I doing with them in the bathroom anyways? *random*

Hi!!! I got another 4 page update in this week. 63-66 are up :3 Yeah a lot of toning going on from all the dark scenes (my wrist and elbows were killing me after) but it was fun. I think this is the fastest I ever got 4 pages done (only took 2 1/2 days D: new record) so I had everything set by Wednesday.

Anddd because I got things done early, I drew 3 pages of lineart for next week :D I feel productive! (watch me have a massive art block this weekend >.>)

Hello hello! Pages 59-62 are up. At this rate, I'll be outdoing chapter 2 in no time xD It doesn't really feel like I've done that many pages for Chapter 3. Maybe 'cause I took a really long hiatus during Chapter 2 and poured all my attention into SC afterward. Anyways, enough of my rambling..

So I'm done with that excruciatingly long scene. I never anticipated it to be 50+ pages...oh wait, yes I did. Bleh! But whatever. I love Violet and Francis, but even I'm getting sick of drawing them for 4 months straight :/

Agh I'm sick! Well not to much, just a sore throat. I hope it stays at that and doesn't travel up to my head/sinuses. That would be total phail >:[

Page 56-58 are up! I wanted to do at least 4 pages but I had a bad week (fatigue spells due to personal problems and the cold I just mentioned up thar). I didn't want to draw at all because I was too tired...but too awake to go to sleep =/ lord I hate that.

I got my banner up! (lol kinda late to announce that). I wanna work on the Etc. section next. Anyone wanna do a link exchange? (cuz I'll have a link section in the...Etc. Section o_o)

Hi again! Pages 51-55 of Chapter 3 have been added! I can't remember the last time I did a 5 pages update x_X having preplanned pages really pays off!

I felt Violet kinda got soft for the beginning of Chapter 3 so I really wanted to bring her obnoxious, indecisive self back 8D She might be treating poor Franky like crap right now, but what goes around comes around :/ she'll get hers at the end of the chapter. Muaha.

Yay I made it! Page 50 is up. I like this page a lot better than the previous, probably because the toning options were more obvious to me. Still took too long T_T I gotta figure out a faster way to do these things.

ANYWAYS I spent all week planning pages again. I'm almost done with Chapter 3 planning wise, but I have some bad news. I originally anticipated about 100 pages for one chapter but....turns out it'll be like...140!!! Or close to that <.< that's kind of discouraging. I guess I could take out some scenes but I really want them for character development T_T errr. The good thing is I won't have to plan pages again for a very long time. Probably the end of the year >.>; we'll see.

Okay so I'm getting terrible at updating on Fridays =^=; but I know damn well that if I moved the update-day to Saturday, I'd procrastinate 'til Sunday :| BAD VICKY.

Page 49 is up! It didn't come out as epic as I wanted it to. Bah well, I'm at least satisfied with Violet's expression at the bottom, though I originally was aiming for something far more hideous...bleh, it does the job.

I got 20 more pages planned! I wanna try to sneak over to my fiance's today to plan more (he has air-conditioning and I don't ;_; and it's gonna be 90 today! I CAN'T CONCENTRATE IN THAT!) and, if I'm really ambitious, get the whole chapter planned out. I reckon that'll be 30+ pages to plan =_=; onward!

Argh. I was supposed to update this on Friday buttttt LJ wasn't working and then my internet went out >:[

Okay sooo pages 47 and 48 are up now! I was afraid 47 would come out too dark but hey, that's what you get for a space scene I guess :B The explosion was really hard to do and it still doesn't look very convincing to me ;_; as for 48, I'm happy with the way it came out..I just hoping the toning doesn't look too unbalanced (since it's darker on the right than the left).

I really have to plan more pages. All my thumbnails have been used up and I'm having trouble thinking of layouts/angles/facial expressions for the next scene T~T errrgh art block. Also, I may not update as often as I used to. Maybe like 2-3 pages a week. I need to slow down a bit, ya know?

OKAY so anyways. Let's talk about...sketches. For now, I'm gonna have to upload my really old tablet-drawn ones because I don't have a good enough scanner for my hand-drawn crap (I draw really light, you see, and the scanner has trouble picking it up, even after I play with the settings). I'll just do one at a time for now.

Welcome to the Saints' Calling Blog! I'll be using this to talk about the weekly updates and have sketches and other goodies up for show.

Some of you who have witnessed the blog before now are probably wondering where the old posts went. I decided to delete those because #1. the information was outdated and #2. the updates of each post went along with the old site...which no longer exists :| so yeah. Don't worry, though, I'll have all the old sketches up in no time (hopefully).
